I will also take comparison pictures to show our normal egg size.

Put a quarter or a dollar bill or a tape measure in the pics for accurate scale...can be fun to use a kitchen weigh the big ones in grams too.

Sexlink birds are more likely to lay many double yolks...it's pretty cool but not great for the bird long term.

I have had a few over the years. One was an egg inside an egg and both had double yolks.

This egg weighed 182 grams.

I weighed all my first batch of 6 pullets eggs, for 10 months.
Now I only weigh the extremes, big and small.
I do weigh my cartons for sale tho, especially during pullet egg season.

Sorry for such a late response! I took these this morning. I cracked the biggest one and it turned out to be a double yolk.

Hopefully they are not all double yolks because I’m sure it can’t be good for her to be laying doubles every day..........

This is one I got about a year ago. I think it was probably laid by a golden comet. The weight in is ounces.

cracked 3 of them this morning (forgot to weigh, sorry! but there are plenty more..) and all were double yolks.

Is it okay for her to lay double yolks every day? I am worried.. is there something I can do to stop it? I'd rather her lay two separate eggs a day then one giant double yolk!

I am coming back to this because we get one of these at least every two weeks...... how normal is that/how safe is it for my girl(s)?
