That's reason I suspect the Silkie's ancestor was a Gamefowl of some sort.

I have a cockerel that looks just like a game bantam (I think it's the American game I'm thinking of, I know it's not OEGB) when he's wet. Has a very similar type. He even has the long legs. (If I can find him ) I'll take some pictures.

He is definitely a hatchery quality.

It is supposed to rain later so if he finds getting soaked is fun (he typically does ) I will post a picture of him wet.
