It won't take super long. Just need to breed the best, & the largest produced together for locking in certain traits, & to keep size. This project will probably take a large amount of time and patients, but is a wonderful idea, I have always wished silkies were bigger, so they way be better off with predators, and even other flock members, so I think this Idea is an amazing one, that you should definitely pursue.
Wide body, long neck, & legs. My first cockerel already has the right features.Since you're crossing with tall breeds, are you going for long necks and legs?

I knew he was larger but I remembered you saying you were going for 8 lbs. He's silkied, so he has the right feathers. He's abit larger then my LF Sumatra rooster, so bigger then the average silkie.
I'm staying true Chinese type, which don't have Pom Pom tails, or at least lack it.I knew he was larger but I remembered you saying you were going for 8 lbs.
I thought silkies had tails that were like their bodies?
I used Silkie Rooster over Brahma Hens. Natural Breeding.I've come across a breeder that breeds 3+ feet Giant Brahma and was able to get a 2 month old cockerel, I always thought how would a full sized brahma with silkie feathers would look, they are massive birds so I just can't breed my new cockerel(when mature) to my Silkies, perhaps Artificial insemination
I found the weights of the Brahmas, but I can't find where I stated Giant Silkie weight though.I knew he was larger but I remembered you saying you were going for 8 lbs.
