Do you think Floof has inherited the full brahma size gene? From his development till now, do you reckon at maturity he is gonna be full sized like a pure brahma?
He's inherited the size from each of the parents. All of which I used are Largefowl.

Brahma sized, probably close once mature.

Are Malays bigger than Brahmas?
Very much bigger.

Malay X Silkie will be my next crossing.

I was planning an F1 X F1 cross, but my Silkie/Brahma cross rooster had to be put down.

But I guess I can do an F1 X F2 Cross. So, it would be: Silkie/Brahma/Silkie X Silkie/Malay.

I re-weighed Scaredy. He was abit under weight the first time. He's now gaining his weight back. There was a food hog.
Scaredy was 4.57lbs the last time.

Here's his weight now. Once he's fully filled out, his true weight will be just alittle over 5lbs.

Breeding order.

Pair #1. Silkie X Brahma

Pair #2. Silkie X Brahma

OffSpring from Both pairs #1, & #2 bred together.
Silkie/Brahma X Silkie Brahma

OffSpring from the first offspring is then bred back to grandparents.

I'll be using line breeding, & adding new blood if necessary.

Won’t the F1 hybrids have regular feathers? If so, I’d breed to F1 hybrids together and expect 1 out of 4 to be silky feathered. I have definitely thought of doing this before but I’m scared of silkies. They are too fragile.

Silkies aren't as fragile as you believe.

F1s are solid feathered yes.

But I had to change my breeding order recently. It's gonna be an F1 X F2 breeding. At least 12.5% both genders of the offspring should be Silkie. The other 12.5% not silkie.
