We never found a solution for the brooder so we just double timed the construction of the coop. Its no where near done, it needs roosts a pop door, nest boxes and a run but we had NO ROOM left in the house for them!
Here are the girls in their new coop.

(they have a heater)

Are you planning on a run for this coop?
What size is it?
How many birds are expected to live in it?
very nice looking and will surely keep them
besure you have some ventilation in the building even now
because just heat and no new ozygen coming in can cause sickness
slight 1-2 inch gap over a window which has screen on it is good
do not make drafts but good ventilation

Hi GLenda,

Thanks

we will be attaching a 12 x 20 foot run
The coop is 7.6 x 6... and there is a small 6 x 3 section for "stuff" that the birds cannot get to.
we are going to have 9 birds out of this picture (5 are going to someone elses house) and 2 additional birds for a total of 11.
There is a vent in both ends of the house which can be seen below.

She is actually a gold sex link. In this picture there are 8 gold sex links, 2 barred rock roos, 2 NHR's, and 2 Buff rocks. We are keeping 2 buff rocks, 2 NHR's, 1 Barred Roo, and 4 sex links (including that light one).
