I did not know that they would not touch a toad until just a couple of days ago. I’ve seen them play frog keep away a few times so when I came across a small toad hanging out in my bag of potting soil I called the flock over. Of course they thought I had treats and when I tossed the little toad to them they gave it the evil eye and walked away. My rooster did try to kill it but left it behind when it was stunned. It eventually hopped away.

No one likes a toad, except our Hog Nosed snake we have in the area. I once watched a Hog Nose chase a toad across the packing house floor and eat it, BLAH

I have hordes of toads at my place in summer. Probably the only things that eat them are less pleasant and live down by the creek.

They hunted and ate a gecko today. I didn't realize chickens were so good at...murdering things. It's so fun watching them explore around the yard as they talk about whatever they find.

We call them tiny dinosaurs for a reason... LOL

My chickens found an ant nest this weekend. Super tasty treat! They dug that whole thing up and ate every one they could find.
