I have a 5 month old flock of 23 hens, mixed breeds. Last weekend we gave away 3 roosters that had snuck in as pullets.
The hens have gone nuts this week- their range outside the coop is much further than it has been and they are flying up into the livestock troughs that we use as raised garden beds and plundering the garden.
They have a small run off the coop, but I like to let them out for more exercise and to keep them from getting bored.
Any suggestions about keeping them out of the garden area? I think a fence will be in order.
