OK you two have me super excited!! what will I need EXACTLY when I go get them.... (I am waiting for him to tell me how many for sure he has)

I keep them in the house in a brooder at first correct? with temps at what?

Marty do u have pic of that waterer?

How long before I could move them out with the chicken brooder with these 10 part brahma?

Pick them up in a cooler or thick box with a towel in the bottom (non slip is important for ducks). Bring them home, and pop them into your box brooder. New hatches bake at 95 week 1, 90 week two, and 85 week 3. By week 4 ducks will be much bigger, and feathered out. If not, go one more week at 80. Once they are totally feathered, your good.

I buy game starter for my ducks. They do very well on it. I feed it only for the first 6 weeks, then I began to do half and half with grower/scratchgrains mixed 50/50. (so 50% starter, 25% grower, 25% scratch grains) for another month. Then I slowly work out of the starter, and feed the grower / scratch grains until they start to lay.

No pic of waterer. sorry. When you get the babies, stand one up by your gal. jug. See where its head meets its body. Make your holes the size of their heads, and the bottem of the square hole should be at the height where neck meets head. You'll need a new one every week, as they grow at the speed of light. I keep making new ones with higher holes, until they are feathered, then out to the pen for those smelly things. Open water then too.

You can put them in the tub (right before you clean it) in warm water once they are a week old. I just leave them in for 15 minutes while I change out boxes and clean up after them. They, pull the plug, sorta dry them in a towel a bit, and pop them back in the (new) box.

Milking goats? hmmmmm think I could make some cash with goats, dogs, chickens and ducks and stop babysitting? I ammmm soooooo getting the babysitting blues, driving me nuts having kids from 6am until 7~9 pm, and then having my own, I have kids 24/7 How in the bejimmenies did my Nana do it!!! I am insane!!

What ya all do this weekend? It was a busy weekend, sad and good too... was so mad that the last BCM egg that hatched with my help died , Jack Black! poor little guy was weak but even with the karo and ACV he didnt have enough strength but he lived almost 4 days!! dont get it, kids n dad burried him in the woods somewhere. HOWEVER

I put Halo and the two mixed silks in with the four remaining BCMxComets of the last hatch and so far they get along fine!

I blew all the leaves, mowed, cleaned up all the dog doody, winterized the pool, cleaned the coops, cooked um oats, cleaned the brooders, cleaned the rabbit pens, cleaned the whelping box, brushed the mutts, cleaned the house well the basics anyway, (does organizing, vacuming and dusting count as "cleaned the house?) and sooooooo on.... all while hubby sided the pallet coop and replaced the stearing in the truck.... COLD had to start the coal stove for the first time!!!

Oh GOOD stuff today too.... Puppies eyes are starting to open and they are starting to walk on all fours alot better!!

Should TOTALLY get goats. How big are your dogs? Training your dogs to like goats isn't too hard. Shoot me a PM if you honestly interested, I can bore ya with facts
