Ducks for their hardiness and fabulous egg laying abilities.

Geese casue my dad loved them as a young man. I ordered all the eggs to surprise him, actually. He died five days before the dewlaps hatched. The sebbies arrived the Wed. before he died. Thats why I started with them. Now, I keep them casue I love them, and they remind me. Oh, and the varieties I have are valuable and show quality in some cases. Celtic says the sebbies aren't amazing, but they placed in our 4H show. The eggs are valuable. The toulouse (buff and grey dewlap toulouse) are historic breeds, show quality, and valuable. Ditto the white african dewlaps. I suppose all of these eggs are worth a min. of $20 each.

Yep, turkeys eat anything. Mine eat snakes, snacks, grain, mice, whatever the heck they catch. I'm glad they eat damp food, otherwise it would be wasted. I think wet food is ok if eaten very promptly. No fermented food!

Sunny, muscoveys are hard to hatch. FYI. I wouldn't start with those for sure.

Gotcha... what if I can find um cheap? why hard?

I have belly ache tonight... I think I got something from the kids... I dont go anywhere so where else could I get it, unless its the drop cookies we made today, but I only had two... I coulda had like 15!
