Five monthes too baby time. So, your gonna leave her with mama 12 hours a day instead? If you do, I'd leave her with mama at night for warmth and comfort, and then pen her by day, so you can milk after school, instead of before. Its easier that way.

When your closer to milk time, I'll tell you how to do it properly. Lots of ignorence results in mastitus and other bag ailments. You've got to clean tits and hands just before you milk into something clean. you've got to tie her legs to something to keep her from putting her feet in the milk, which is gross and you have to toss it. Then, filter it through a coffee filter or clean t-shirt. Then put in double boiler to bring to temp, and cool over ice quick, to pasteurize, which can really save you many ailments.

Not sure if gonna pasterize, and the mom and baby will be together but seperated so she can;t nurse at night, but not until she a week or so old. Seems mean to seperate her during the day when she would need the milk the most.

Alrighty, thanks, Might not pausterize though if it tastes fine raw. I've been thinkig about this a while and would really rather to keep it raw if possible, but thanks for the tips !

Baby will nurse all night, if left with mama, I guarantee it. And it will sleep all day. I havn't lost any yet, and they get more milk this way that the other.

No, I will milk her in the week, but when the baby is a week I will seperate them so Baby can only nurse after I milk. Its a usual routine that I know a lot of peoples use.

I will, I just hope I don't get milk goiter, LMAO.
