Given 3 day old duckling, caught by a kid, think this little 1 is having Seizures!

I have always been familiar with birds. I used to handle raise cockatiels at 13. I'm not willing to give her up & loose her. We just got 2 chics from the feed store to help her adjust & be more comfortable and she is doing great. But I could never deal with handing her to someone else for all we've gone through with this duckling. If she is wild, please help direct me to where I could have a permit to care for her, please!

What do I do about leg banding with this duckling before it gets to big.
I read somewhere last night it needs to be a numbered non-break band, because the duckling is being captive reared.
Can anyone tell me more about this. I used to have to band my cockatiels too, at a certain age.

I saw the photo a few posts back that you posted today. It does not look like a wild duck, but perhaps a Pekin or Muscovy duckling. You do not need to find a rehabilitator and can keep the duckling. There is no need for a leg band unless this is a practice you usually do for your birds. You can raise it like a normal farm duck. It will, most likely, grow up to be entirely white.

I didn't know whether the leg band was required, especially if there was a possibility of her being a wild duckling. She loves the company of the chics so much. They all snuggle and eat together through the day. But after all that shock sure seems like the little one needs my comfort at night. When I watch her start to fall asleep you can see it's as if she's afraid of having a seizure so I'll do what ever it takes for her to be happy!!! We have currently named her Gwen Faustina, which means blessed & lucky. Our family feels it fits her very well!

Yep, looks like a Pekin. It's OK to keep him with chickens, but they really like other ducks. And, if the duckling turns out to be a male, it's not good to keep him with chicken hens when he grows up.

As I may not have much room I feel I can figure out accommodations for the duckling as it becomes older as needed. Including the idea that my husband & I have discussed the possibility of duck diapers. I am on permanent disability & am home all day & don't leave much I feel I can accommodate the little one as needed. Our family is so in love, hoping the little duckling is a girl, but have welcoming arms to a boy too! Thank you & I will keep updating & posting pictures!

This is such a hard situation with fish and game involved....I, personally, have rescued and rehabbed many many wild animals (small ones only....lol) without contacting fish and game. If it is a wild duck it will most likely leave you to join other wild ducks as it gets older so I really wouldn't worry too much about contacting them. I am pretty sure that when that small there is no way to tell if it is wild or not so I don't believe fish and game would know either. Are there other domestic ducks in the area where it was found?
