Giving my chicks treats

We give ours lefovers from the garden. This time of year its last falls spinach and lettuce crops that are now going to seed.
They love it! But I only give them enough for about 20-30 minutes worth of time.

i give mine peas, leftover fish, cooked ramen noodles (rinsed, the salt is not good for them)

if you want healthy treats and some cheap entertainment, they LOVE live crickets. it gives them a good protien boost and it's fun to watch them catch them and run around.

chopped gruit, veggies. anything chickens would lik

i always give mine treats and have never had a problem. they're happy and i'm happy.

but we all have to remember that treats are treats. too many can be bad, just like too much ice cream can me bad. but then again, i have ice cream every day (not a whole lot) and never gained weight from it. still probably not good for me though.

healthy treats are great though! treats stregthen the bond between you and your baby chicks because they associate you with good, yummy things

I think carrots are a natural de-wormer? I am sure you can search it somewhere on this forum. We have also caught bugs for them, they love it

Supposedly pumpkin is a dewormer but I don't believe it. My BR ate TONS of pumpkin seeds last fall and yet died of roundworms this spring.
