Giving your chicken a bath

Do you need to use soap when giving your chicken a bath?

Chickens don't normally need baths with soap and water.

What I mean is, you don't normally need to bath a chicken. They keep themselves clean with preening and dust baths.

I guess if they really need it you could use baby shampoo or another type of gentle shampoo. Just make sure you wash it all out. I'd also suggest drying the chicken really well afterward.

Why are you thinking it needs a bath? It's really best if you don't bathe them.

It's totally unnatural for a chicken to be bathed with water. Why are you wanting to bathe your bird?

You can use a moist towel for that. Hold it on for a bit to make it easier to wipe the poop off.
