My dear husband built me this glass front brooder for my baby chicks. I love it and so do the chicks. There's going to be 3 separations but right now I just have 2. The larger side has 2 week olds to 4 week olds and the small baby side has a 2 day old and my little 1 week bantam so they're basically the same size. Both ends of the brooder open up for easy cleaning and we laid linoleum on the floor. So far my dogs haven't learned how to open up the sliding glass doors yet. We're ready for more hatchlings!

That is a luxury version of what we did with our chicks! I just had an old clear shower curtain but the effect was the same. I like that the chicks could always see you coming and didn't panic when you reached over the top of the brooder to care for them.
Now my chickens are 16 weeks old and all except the top pullet and one of the cockerels, will run to me and eat out of my hand. A few allow me to pet them but that is okay with me. I'd rather them cautious as I think they will stay safer that way while free ranging.

I just saw another post this morning using shower curtains. Eeee, so many great ideas folks have! :D Chicken folks: cleverest people on the planet. :clap

Pretty slick...great visibility.
Where did those glass doors come from, I'm guessing some kind of display cabinet?
What are the dimensions Width x Length x Height?
Can you reach in easily to grab a chick from any corners?

Great place to keep hatchlings for about a week before moving them to the coop.
I have something similar but taller and just mesh instead of glass.

The glass is plexi-glass. I got pretty much everything from facebook marketplace so everything cost less than $80. The box is 30 inches x 84 inches x 24 inches. I can reach in from the front, ends and top if I wanted to. I've found the chicks move a lot more in this brooder than my last one of cardboard because the heat is probably contained better and more evenly dispersed.

This is beautiful!!!
I had large washer and dryer boxes stapled together for mine! :lau
Bravo!!
My first brooder was a loveseat box with holes cut in but eventually the bottom got too dirty and the openings didn't close right! I guess when my husband saw this was more than just a "phase" he decided to build one to last. I like the visibility and there's plenty of ventilation. Now just have to spruce up the place a little.
