My little barred rock hen, Gloria, has been doing extremly well lately. For those that don't know her, 6 months ago I thought we were gonna loose her. She had a bad respitory problem and a leg problem. She breathed heavily and drooled badly. Her leg was painful and she limped horribly.
Now, she is RUNNING to keep up with the other 5 hens, galloping along like a horse and battling for food, where as before she could care less what they did or ate. She also is jumping up to the nesting box and climbing the ramp to the coop, and laying us a egg everyday. Might I also add, at being 4+ years old, she still is the boss of the group, keeping them all in line. She still limps, but that doesn't faze her anymore. Thanks to all the members on here who gave advice and suggestions to treatments, and in the end, Penicillian did the trick for both her problems. I believe the breathing and limping is linked together, cause now she barely limps at all and can breathe fine.
