"Come eat then." She gently licked Dove and nuzzled her soothingly. She then laid down so her pups could enjoy dinner.

Once Kasper was full, he looked up and asked, "Mother, did you see all the big wolves fighting earlier? They almost came in here! It was kind of scary."

"Yes, I did." She licked him. "I'm glad Shark saved you." (She had heard the story.)

Tofu, not wanting to get into details to scare the pups, replied: "The bad wolves wanted to take our food. But if we don't have food we can't eat and I can't feed you. We needed to save the food so we can live. Are you ready for your nap now?"
