Tooth walked over to the wolf and sat over him.
‘ I’m not going to hurt you, I forgive you.’ Tooth said, his lies clearly there. ‘ Who do you love in the pack? Do you want a mate? If so, who?’

Kes’ tail wagged. He knew what he was about to say was foolish, but he couldn’t help himself. He grinned. “Why, Tooth, you’re the one I love!”

“Wow, you are one charismatic fellow!” Kes continued, winking at him. “A myriad of females probably moon over you every day! How can I ever aspire to match that?”
My life with the humans did have some benefits. Kes thought, reflecting over all the words he had learned in their strange dens. Of course, he didn’t know the exact definition of many of them, but that was fine. Neither did anyone else.

Kes shook his head with apparent frustration and got to his feet. “How can I prove my love to you, Alpha?” He whined. He curled his tail around his legs.
