Brutus smiled, he was watching the confrontation between Kas and Tooth from a distance, hidden from view behind a large boulder. When he realized Kas wasn’t going to stand down, he had quietly made his exit without anyone noticing. After all, he was only loyal to the alphas because of Saabi. She was a powerful wolf, his kind of wolf. He liked seeing Tooth be mocked for once. It felt good.
 
Kes scampered away as soon as Tooth glanced in a different direction. The truth was, there was none he wanted for a mate. However, he did have fun acting. They think they can eat all that food by themselves. Yeah, right. They’d be fatter than a hippo!
