If you have the resources, land and extra hens, you could set up another coop/run/yard to have a secondary flock. Alternatively, letting this one run around with your existing flock may work as long as your existing rooster puts up with this newcomer and this newcomer doesn't try to start problems with your existing rooster.What am I going to do with another cockerel?
Personally, I would probably go with either eating or rehoming, depending on how attached I am.
I fortunately have a fallback with a buddy of mine - she has offered to take any rejected chickens and handle the processing. If I find myself with a rooster that I'm attached to but just can't rehome, this will likely be the route with the strict instruction of "I don't want to hear about what happens next."
