oh dear gretchen. Herniated disk is NOT good news. Before they tell you that you need surgery, make sure to get plenty of other opinions. My mom has had 3 back surgeries and is permanently disabled....

I know, so was my mom. She was t-boned by a semi and that started it but her first surgery was at 39 years old. She was able to function for a while, in pain, but then it went downhill. I really believe that if she had a different method other than surgery, she could have avoided that first one and waited a while.
