Going about getting the right ratio

I am thinking about getting Japanese quail and I was thinking a ration of 20 females and 5 males sounded pretty good how do I make sure I get this ratio without killing 20 quails at once.

Would I just buy a lot more quail then needed and eat the extra?

You planning on buying chicks? Adult birds? Incubating eggs? How do you plan to get these birds? 20 to 5 would be a fine ratio. Unless you got a place that you can buy sexed birds to get the exact ratio you want, your gonna end up with extras either way that you could either sell, eat or whatever you choose.
