how is it a poor animal this is what it does in nature we were just playing with it as it is the only goat it is in with 2 horses so we just play with it as it has nothing else to play with i dont see how that is a bad thing its not like i am hitting or wooping the animal like people who ride horses or anything
This is how my pygmies play with each other... (The jumping up on hind legs) they aren't upset at all when they do it.. just trying to tempt each other into a good butting session.
I'm going to say though that the riding was probably a bit overboard and not well done.
You need to be very careful with Horned Goats. All of my goats are horned, and they are very sweet and very fun. However, even though they are just playing, one swing in the wrong direction and you've got a broken rib and a gouge that needs stitching.
Watching them "dance" with each other is loads of fun. I think at 21 it's hard to realize that you're not built to take the abuse that another goat is. A better idea, is to build some goat toys for your grandparents goats. A few ramps, some tire toys etc. Things that won't injure the horses in the pasture of course.
So I don't think there was any harm intended or caused to these goats. Probably the people in danger were these two boys, no matter how sweet the goat is.
get what like i said when i was on the goat i wasnt sitting on it i was standing over it i am 6ft 3 there was no wait on the goat, im just confused at what you guys saying is wrong
i wasnt actually head butting the goat if thats what you think, we were just having fun pushing each other i would never actually go head to head with this thing, and it knows not to eathier, if you actually though i was head butting this thing sorry but no i am not that stupid this was all just fun and games, the goat enjoys it when ever someone is walking out by the pasture the goat comes up to the fence and follows the person to where the pasture gate is then we just walk around for a while, and when the goat is ready to play it just stands still, we play tag and everything when i start running it will chase me but when it gets close it stops knowing that it one then i would chase it and this is just fun for it and me, i mean i am also the person that can just go in there and sit with it and just feed it treats but it just seems to like to play better
Bock bock I think the reason people are upset is that when goats are encouraged to play this way, they can sometimes decide to play like this when it is not appropriate - like with a small child, or maybe another animal that could get injured. It didn't look to me like you were teasing or hurting the goat at all. My goats love to play that way, they think it is great fun. I admit that sometimes my wethers can goad me into playing with him this way, even though I know I shouldn't. But he is a pymgy, much smaller than the goat you were playing with; and much smaller horns.
