Most of us are writing out of concern for you and your friends and family. The reactions here probably depend on our past experiences. I also think it depends on the goat's personality. Years ago I had a big Toggenburg/Saanen doe that was played with like this by a friend of mine...well he thought he was playing.

She took offense and NEVER forgave that young man. If he or any of his family came to the farm she would go for the kill - and I mean serious attack. It ended up being dangerous for him to come to the farm. She was one smart goat and it wasn't her fault that she was acting aggressively towards the person that had teased her.

I think we want you to be safe - sometimes it comes out as lecturing.

Ya'll make me want to just get off of here sometimes. I mean seriously, all he was trying to do was share a happy afternoon having fun with the goat and you adults just have to jump on his back and tackle him to the ground about it!
I dont want to be rude, but not everyone has the same guidelines, life styles. or animals in general.
There is no way you can say that the goat pictured will act , behave, respond just like other goats.
I see your point when you nag him for "bad habits" being formed, but GEEZ!
You dont have to yank his hair ( no pun intended, sorry dude

) about it.
I see this so often, people try to share something with the rest of us and all Ya'll do is pick and bicker over what the poster is doing.
I agree, you should share your opinions, but if all you are going to do is spend your time lecturing then go be a college or high school teacher.

I have just read most of this thread and believe people are only concerned for the safety of other people and the RAMifications (HA sorry) of "Goats Gone Wild." If billy gets aggressive all the time, where does that leave him? What will his future hold, and I agree it is a possibility.

If your goat turn on you and hurts you, then oh well. Hopefully the goat wont get put down for being aggressive. IMO, if you end up being the one getting hurt at this point, oh well. Nothing against you, but like they said, you taught him. (My opinion goes for drunk drivers as well, they drive themselves into a tree, darn. Hit and injure someone else, I have a problem with that!) If it does turn on, I believe someone suggested a cousin or grandparent, then they are injured because you taught it to "play" and he did so with the wrong person.


I, personally, butted one of my pygmy billies not 20 minutes before I came in the house and read this thread.

I just wonder if you admitted the possibility of your baby "playing" with the wrong person at the wrong time and possibly causing injury, would people let up. (Just like I don't think my pit mix would ever bite someone and would have to see it to believe it)

Oh, come on now. That's a bit of a low blow, doncha think? Not everyone has the same skill with grammar and spelling.

I was trying to make the point that it is not from "stupidity" or lack of reading that we do not see him saying the same thing over and over again.
