Going out to feed/maintain/..slip on shoe recommendations?

Also in Walmart fake croks - go thru three, four pairs a year. They are made from dense foam, your feet will wear right thru them, and sticks can pretty easily penetrate them as well - but unlike muck boots, if you step in an ant pile, you can get out of them REALLY fast to kill the ants.

and you don't have to touch them to get in/out of them, unlike the Crok designs with the heel cup.

Flip flops (or Crocs) in the summer, and old pair of Sketchers tennis shoes (they wash in the washer to look like new!) and in Winter BOGS! Have probably 5 pair of Bogs but waiting for them to make a low shoe model again.

Some good ideas here!

I used to wear flip flops in the summer till I ripped my big toenail completely off this spring. Now I wear crocs - slip on but toes protected! I use them in the garden too.

In the snow I wear DHs big, up to the knee, insulated muck boots. If there is no snow I just wear a pair of old clogs that slip on but are fluffy & warm.

I have an old pair of crocs, like about 15 years old. They slip on and off, are washable so I’ll wear them into the shower. I even wear them in snow as long as the snow isn’t fresh and deep and falling inside. Boots like what the British call Wellies are great in snowbanks but they aren’t easy to take off. In warm weather if I get dirt or bedding inside I just take them off outdoors, shake them out, wipe my feet on the green grass and slip them back on. No problem 😌

I'm like you, Cryss, although Cheap. I have a pair of flip flop like things, Not between the toes, across the top & a pair of pretend to be Birkenstocks? I think they call them? Worn out pair of boots I can slip into for winter although Most of my chickens roost on the back porch so dump food on the ground, unless it snows... Not to divert the post but BOY, it's PAID off having chickens this year with the GRASSHOPPERS in my area...

Maybe an equipment or supplies thread or category would be good, if I’m not seeing it. Running outside constantly to play with, feed, clean, garden, etc..does anyone have any good slip on shoe recommendations? Especially the kind you don’t even have to bend over for? It’d be nice to have a dedicated “chickens” shoe that slips on and off quickly..
I have sloggers, yellow with chickens on them, keep them right by the door to the coop, inside the barn, slip on and off, never worry about tracking chicken poop everywhere.

I have some backless clog-type shoes made by Crocs, but not the typical croc shoe. These have the toe entirely enclosed in canvas. They slip on easily protect my toes from any lightweight thing that falls when I'm feeding or cleaning out the coop (like feed, shavings or poop) and from pecking chickens, and they rinse off easily and dry quickly. I've had them for years and I don't think they make them anymore, but something like this could work https://www.crocs.com/p/womens-walu-canvas-loafer/14391.html?cgid=loafers&cid=26P#q=canvas&start=2
