One of my birds (sexlink)who has been laying like clockwork is now just going through all the motions .. back into the coop after morning let out / entering the nest box for a period of time but not laying an egg .. can anyone advise ?

in the last couple of days I have also noticed a couple of yolky shell less attempts at what look like eggs ? Note not necessarily the same bird, as I still have an Orpinton pullet who age wise must be getting close to laying .. Again any advice ?

thanks in advance for all thoughts

Only way to know 100% for sure which bird is responsible for the shellless egg is to either watch the nests as each bird goes in and out, to see who leaves it behind, or to cage one of the suspect birds within the coop or run for a day or two, and see where the shellless egg shows up.

How old is the sexlink? If over 1 year and you're in the northern hemisphere, daylight hours are decreasing and it's molting time.
