Going to buy my first Turkeys in the morning!!!

I am going to buy 2 Turkeys of what ever breed they have, I don't really care what breed they are, these will be my "practice" turkeys. I plan to name them Thanksgiving and Christmas!!!

Where are you getting yours? Do the feed stores have them already? We're going to raise some turkeys for the first time this year too. I plan on getting 6 and raising them in a chicken tractor.

ETA: I started to get mine mail-order from McMurray hatchery along with the meat birds I was already getting, but it said I had to order 15.

That's cool! I just ordered 3 Bronze Broad Breasted yesterday from Ideal. I don't know of anybody near me that sells turkeys, and Ideal was the only place that I could order less than 10 or 15 from. I just wish I could've ordered a heritage breed - those breeds did have a minimum order number.

Atwoods here in OK said they would have on the 16th. I want to first in line!!!

Also Orschelns had they brooders set up on Monday.

Well I called them and the Turkey chicks didn't come in. So I have to wait a couple of weeks.

The FIL called to tonight and he siad he was bringing me a couple Turkey Poults in the morning!!! I have the Nursery ...... I mean brooder ready for them.
