I periodically check petfinder to see if any greater swiss or swissy mixes show up anywhere nearby. We have one now that is the best dog either my husband or I have ever had. We really would like to have another one but they are few and far between. I just saw that our local shelter has a four month old girl in. She isn't available for adoption until May 5th, but we are going to at least go look at her. I sure hope she seems like a good fit and we end up being able to adopt her!

Do you have any pictures of your swiss? I have no idea what these look like.

I love swissy's!! My husband and I are working on getting one. It is hard to find breeders in our area and the pups that we have found so far have not suited the hubby's standards. Good Luck!!!!

Our current boy is definitely a mix. He has some swissy coloring but lots of swissy personality. This is Chewie when he was about 4mos:

Chewie, our current dog, is the most laid back dog. He is only a year old and he certainly has energy, but he is very mellow. Like a true swissy, he loves to pull and we go bikejoring on a regular basis with him. We are hopeful that if we get the girl pup, that she will enjoy pulling when she is older as well.
