I had bought two Red or Buff colored Silkies from the Tractor Supply here and to mu surprise their feathers coming in are of Gold Laced coloring! I wonder if they will be gold laced???

Hello everyone, sorry I have not updated in a while, loads has been going on... Here is an updated pic of the goldlaced silkie x she is lovely, great temperament.. She is 8 wks old now. Sadly the chick with the cross beak died

As you can see in the picture the little polish x silkie frizzles are doing great, 2 sadly died

It looks to me the chicken you were gifted to test your incubator is the start of a gold laced silkie project. A first cross between silkie and gold lace chicken, maybe he was starting a new line and didn't want to give you his best stock? I know I wouldnt want to just give out eggs from a well developed line of perfected gold laced silkies
