Thankyou... I have another 12 eggs in the bator from the same man, 3 suppose to be silkies, 2 suppose to be silver laced polish, and 7 chamois polish... I am so looking forward to them hatching and seeing if they are pure (which the last lot should have been)
fl.gif
not long 7 have pipped, 1 silkie, 1 silver laced and 5 chamois... hopefully not long now...

And maybe.. just maybe if the silkies are pure they could be gold laced... but not holding out for much hope, lol I will be happy just for them to be pure silkies and some pure polish (the little polish he gave me looks pure, and is so darn cute)

I will keep you all informed

Well 5 chicks hatched... 4 polish, and 1 silkie, have not been able to have a proper examination off them as the bator is rather busy...

This leads me to another question.. there were 8 eggs pipped, including a silver laced polish, now this one I know for sure and a silkie egg pipped 39 hours ago, and I can not see movement, mostely due to them being kicked about the bator by the other chicks, what do I do? do I let nature take its course and leave them?? or help ?? oh this is so hard to just sit back and watch and not know whats going on inside the eggs.... Oh and I cant hear no peeping coming from the eggs due to the hatched chicks, they are very vocal lol,

I got back from the school run and another had hatched

but sadly the silver laced polish had died, I did take it out to see if I could help it but it had pipped through his wing, and its beak was wedged, ive never heard of a chick actually pipping through a body part, and also the silkie had a strip of something wedged inside across its beak, like a horse bit in a horses mouth, if you understand what im saying lol this was holding the chick back, and it was unable to pip properly, then another polish had shrink wrapped, but both these chicks are ding great now, im so glad I helped I am sure they would not have hatched without me helping... I have one more egg in the bator, which seems to have made no progress, but is cheeping and rocking so I am going to see how it goes.

Pics of the new chicks.... As you can see they are not dangerous lol.... but they are not pure either maybe apart from the first polish....

It was hard trying to get a good pic of each, not getting them mixed up ect lol

Here is a pic of the 3 chicks I helped, a little bit messy, but I will clean them up a little once they settle down abit.

I have taken pictures of each chicks feet an as you can see apart from the first chick, all have either fluff on the legs, one foot with 4 toes and one foot with 5 toes, and also some with non fluffy legs and 5 toes... a mixed bunch.

Oh and there is another egg still in the bator.... candled at day 18, seemed to appeared to be a quitter.... left in bator just to make sure, candled yesterday before throwing as no sign of life, but to my shock movement... but chick the size of a 15 day incubated egg??? now I am confussed all set the same day, so just going to see what happens
