Gold Laced Splash Orpington

Lavender Ameraucana rooster over a lavender laced English Orpington. I didn't know you could click on pictures! I thought I could only use it if I knew all the codes haha.

So no visually laced birds. But if you breed a son back to mom or aunts...
The results are very long, but out of 64 chicks you should get laced babies. I used Silver-laced, but Gold-laced should be the same.

If you click on show examples under the picture just pulls up pictures. Hover over them to see what they actually are, but this should be fairly straightforward.

Are your Orps SLO or GLO with Lavender?
GLO I believe, I think they were billed as Lavender Isabel Laced when I bought them, but it was such a mouthful I shortened it haha.

Awesome! Thanks! I thought it might be the case...look at all that foreign language...how will I ever learn haha.

Ok, I’m going to attach pictures of rooster, a hen (or course the one cooperating for pictures is ole one eye), & the chicks.

Well anything is possible. His mother looks just like him & his father is blue.
His mother is the result of 2 blues as best as I can remember.
I have a more normal looking splash hen (more that lavender hue than white) that I could hatch from to get a new rooster, it just adds another year & these Lace ladies already have some age on them.

Has the rooster or his mother produced any other offspring? If he’s dominant white it would explain the white chicks, though he could still be silver and splash.

I would cross a blue rooster (if you have one) to the gold laced hens to make sure you get some of the correct genetics if this rooster doesn’t have them. (Not saying that’s guaranteed, but you might want to hatch some more chicks just in case.)

The white rooster hasn’t been used until this pairing. His mother has & I know she’s made more like herself, but she’s in a pen with 2 other hens (one splash & one blue) under a blue rooster, so I don’t know for sure what else she’s produced because eggs could be coming any of the 3 hens.
I wish Forked Farms was still in business (can’t find them anywhere now).
I’m seriously thinking of scrapping the project & getting laced hatching eggs & trying to get a rooster from that & using my for sure splash hen & produce somemore splash hens & just starting over. 🫠
