Golden Cuckoo Marans

My golden cuckoo marans I hatched from pasofinofarm are one week old today. They went for an outing amongst the weeds yesterday in the sun. I am hoping by their color that I have one boy and 6 girls, although that could put a lot of pressure on the one boy. Time will tell.

Beautiful chicks, I would say you got 1 roo and 6 pullets.
I'm planing to get eggs from paso. Just as soon as I get the incubator open for more eggs, or my best broody game hen decides she want to set again.

The dark ones are pullets. The light one is a cockeral. Golden Cuckoo Marans can be sexed by their color when they hatch.

That boy won't have any trouble at all. I cull pretty early so I hope it doesn't take time to tell.

I did raise all these and just as I suspected I have 6 pullets and two cockerels... several of my hatches have had this strange ratio but I love it! Glad to see it still works when the eggs are shipped!
