Golden laced polish- pullet?roo?

How long ago did you purchase them?

If you recently bought them as "pullets", the seller would have to take them back and give your money back or exchange them for true pullets of the same age.
Yes bringing them back is an option but have a kid who is already attached so hoping not to…

Here are updated pictures of the tail and subtle feathers that are starting to grow back in the smaller black bearded one . The new saddle feathers seem rounded maybe? But the tail seems curled so not sure.

I see only cockerels. Those crest feathers do not lie.

Also the lacing. It looks more spotty on the chests of cockerels whereas pullets have better lacing patterns.

And the thick neck. The stance. Longer curved tail.

How thick are their legs compared to pullets you have?

The legs look same or thinner than the easteregger pullet I have about the same age. I go back and forth daily - definitely pullet or definitely roo. Lol the crest feathers seem to get wider as they age but still not the tidy flower shape you see in adult hens. Holding out hope but it seems golden laced polish are especially weird to sex.

Yes that and the new feathers coming in are not feathers of a rooster. They are different shaped and still no hackles coming in.
Thanks for replying. I’m holding out hope still. Will post an updated photo soon when feathers grow in a bit. I found a home for the larger one. Hard when the poor thing came to me severely plucked.

I see that people are making good points both ways, so I am watching with interest to see which gender the "pullets" really are, when they finally make it obvious to us all :)

My black crested ,who wasnt plucked / bullied was close to 15-16 weeks when all of a sudden his hackles, saddle feathers clearly said cockerel. Now the 10 week old i have is a pullet without a doubt, her feathers have been totally different.. personality is the same...goofy thing who thanks to her egyptian fayoumi buddy ( its a strange pair, 15 chicks these two bonded) anyway, the EF has made a good trainer, guardian for the free range life..

I have followed thisthread and still unsure..
