This bird has pointy head feathers and not rounded ones like a female would have.
This is a silver laced hen but you can see the difference in her crest feathers

I feel like pullets don’t have those nice wide round feathers right away but maybe I’m just being hopefulView attachment 3608475

I would add @BastyPutt !@RoostersAreAwesome Would you mind taking a look?
Both cockerels. The feathers are pointed and the lace is muddy.
Polish hold their tail in a vertical position. It’s the tail that worries me- do the females hold it so high?
All chickens have saddle feathers; the difference is that males have pointed saddle feathers and females have rounded saddle feathers.Looks like a female. No saddle feathers at the base of the tail.
The larger one is definitely giving off male vibes with that crest and size, so I would say cockerel on that one. That leaves the smaller Polish to be a pullet, in my opinion, but don't hold me to that, since Polish are not my kind of bird on sexing. What about this one? Every chicken has wattles. The beard only hides the wattles. No wattles but they are bearded.
Yes, of course they can. Those are the saddle feathers that every chicken has.So females can have those curved ones too?
Your hopefulness is correct, because Polish pullets don't have female-looking crests at a young age. Polish take about sixteen weeks before you can accurately sex them.I feel like pullets don’t have those nice wide round feathers right away but maybe I’m just being hopeful![]()
Thanks this is helpful. I found a home for one potential rooster but the other I might need to return to seller if it’s not a hen. The smaller one’s (with the black beard)pointy curled tail feathers are giving me pause.. curious how those saddle feathers will look in a week when they come back in. Hoping you are right that it’s a pullet. He/she was also jumping aggressively on our larger Easter egger pullet this amPolish hold their tail in a vertical position.
