Golden Laced Wyandotte Thread!

Pics
Finally got some better pics of my GLW. The pics still don't capture how pretty their feathers are. Almost like a pheasant.

Hi everybody! Ill join in! I set a dozen mixed dottie eggs along with lots of EEs and a few others and got these beauties! I'm praying for at least one pullet in the bunch. Here they are at a few days old-

I'm having some trouble telling the different varieties apart. Is this a GLW or a BLRW you think?

Ill try to keep updating pics! Hoping I get some nice birds!

the bottom one is GLW

Nickeyo-thanks for responding! That is what I'm figuring out. Is the next-to-last chick not a GLW? In a previous post on the chick raising forum, I asked how to tell my chicks apart as I set a very mixed bunch and was given the advice to consider anyone with a rose comb a dottie.. That chick has a very obvious rose comb. So could this be a BL RW? He does seem to have a blue undercoat coming in? I'm so confused!

Nope. Breeder only has GLW, SLW, and BLRWs. By process of elimination it almost has to be a blue but it sure doesn't look that way!?!

Would this be a blue undercoat coming in? Still don't see any "laced" feathers?

That is most likely a BLRW it is going to have poor to no lacing. I have hatched out 2 like that in my years of hatching BLRW and as soon as I figure out which parent is throwing that look I cull it. Remember just because you have Show quality/breeder birds doesn't mean they wont throw a ugly non show quality chick here and there.

Oh no! The breeder has beautiful birds! I set four BLRW eggs-one wasn't fertilized and one had a blood ring on day seven. I have two chicks that look exactly like this :(.
