I noticed something odd about one of my Wyandotte chicks today. She is close to fully feathered and all of her feathers are curled at the ends, toward her body. Anyone know why they would be like that?

She may be crossed with a frizzle, that would be exciting.
So are GLW just REALLY slow to feather? I've a bunch of chicks that are just SLOW. I didn't remember the parent stock being THIS slow.
Can you take a picture? Mine are 3 weeks and really far behind the EE's from the same hatch. Just kind of worries me. I don't want to keep hatching eggs if the parent combo I have is throwing anomolies.mine are almost 4 weeks and probably 60% feathered. Under the wings, belly, and head are the only areas not grown in at all yet, Chest is still growing and back still has a few more feathers to grow
She was not liking this inspection one bit. As you can see in the first pic, yelling at me. But I tried to get all angles. My Wyandottes are the least cooperative of my chickens lol.Can you take a picture? Mine are 3 weeks and really far behind the EE's from the same hatch. Just kind of worries me. Thank you so much for those photos. I will wait a week and see how close mine are to that feathering. It is so strange how small they are, and the parents are lovely!
They are feathering exactly the same rate as my RIRs and a little bigger than the RIRsThank you so much for those photos. I will wait a week and see how close mine are to that feathering. It is so strange how small they are, and the parents are lovely!
I had EE's hatch with the GLW and they are very fast feathering and growing. They always outpace the other breeds. So it's hard to tell if the GLW are actually that slow. They are feathering exactly the same rate as my RIRs and a little bigger than the RIRs
