Hi I would be interested, I also live in Houston. At the moment though I’m in NC, and I’m hatching eggs here so I’m still unsure when I’m heading back. Bellaire allows roosters right?

Hello! So technically, Bellaire allows them but crowing violates the noise ordinance. Aaaaaand the coop is going to have to be right under my neighbor’s bedroom window.. We ended up with 3 cockerels so we’ve decided to see if we can swing 1, but not 3. When do you guess you’ll be back?Incubation generally takes 3 weeks.

And I’m sorry but I just have to ask... So how does one go on a trip to another state and end up hatching some eggs?? 😆

That’s messed up, they allow roosters but not the noise factor. In Houston, you can keep up to 30 chickens including roosters but 500 feet away from your neighbor. I just sneak mine 😁, the neighbors don’t mind. I’ll be back at the end of May hopefully when everything gets better. I was here for almost two months so I got a incubator from TSC and got some eggs off Craigslist and started hatching! The eggs from the lady are all 12/12 fertility! 100% hatch rate, and only $4 a dozen, that’s how I ended up hatching eggs in NC 🤣😂
