Goldie’s Adopt-An-Egg HAL

I doubt you will be. I rarely get yellow chicks. Usually they are black or grey or a mixture. Or striped. Or spotted. That’s the beauty of hatching from a mixed flock. The best part to me is seeing what mixes come out of it.
I hope I am gray like Trebbie.

Someone purchased 4 hatching eggs from us a few weeks ago and they sent me pictures of the four that hatched (all of them hatched!)

Just for fun… here are some possible mixes.

There’s a Delaware mix and a Creveceour mix in there.
The Delaware and one of the black ones turned out to be a cockerel and they said they aren’t allowed to keep cocks, so they rehomed the white one and they’re going to be rejoining the black cockerel to us. Tomorrow morning.

@Obsessed With Silkies, you officially won!!

(I’m a little worried about egg 5 as I see some possible blood… it seems as though the chick is alive :fl)

Waiting for activity from eggs 2, 3, & 9!

The pic above shows some intestinal lining (??) hanging from the vent and it got stuck on the wing. I don’t want to mess with it to make it worse but I don’t know what to do. Should I pull it out/off?

So it is stuck to the chick's wing but not to anything else? If you think you can just pick it off, that is probably fine. But f it does not interfere with the chick's movement, I would probably just leave it alone. The chick might pick it off in the next few days, or it might fall off, or it might stay until the feathers grow and the down falls out. Any of those is fine.
