Technically, all these chicks hatched early… hatch day is scheduled for tomorrow. Hopefully the last chick makes it out. :fl

Yay! Little Murdoc! Black too.
With broodies I usually have them hatch early, too.

I love how the two chipmunk chicks are so different. One is light and one is darker.

@Fuchsia ’a chipmunk chick (middle), @Dr Evy ’s chipmunk chick (left), and @Chickengirl2671 ’s chipmunk chick (right).
I can tell the difference between each of them because they are each a little bit different.

I’m so happy we got such a variety of chicks this time around! Usually I get mostly blacks and some whites or multicolored ones. I have never gotten more than one chipmunk chick per hatch… so I got lucky this time.

Peepers is my Silver Duckwing OEGB so it would only make sense that he fathered each of the chipmunks. But the chipmunks seem to be largefowl instead of bantam, and Peepers is a bantam. :hmm

A chick's size at hatching is determined by the egg size.
If you set big eggs, you get chicks that are big when they hatch.
But that doesn't tell much about what size they will be as adults.
