Gonna put in my order.... (update: ORDERED 50 CHICKS!)

Isn't it Ideal that has a minimum dollar amount rather than minimum # of chicks? I mean, it's a risk to get less than 25 both for padding and temperature reasons, but places will do it. Meyer has a small order program (but charge for it).

Not that I saw. It said "25 min. per breed" sooooo I went with it. Hhehee. I'll keep a few hens from the pullet surprise then sell the rest in the spring. I cant imagine keeping all 50, BUUTTTT then again... hmmmmmmm

So
you could order one, if it was a really expensive one!

There is a charge for less than a box, and I *think* there's a charge for less than a 1/4 box of any one breed, but their charges don't seem to be so horrible as some of the small-order options I've seen.

If you keep reading this is at the bottom of the page.

BOXING EQUIVALENTS FOR ONE FOURTH OF A BOX:

Chicks, Bantams, Guineas, Pheasants, and Chukar -- 25.
Turkey Poults and Ducklings -- 20.
Goslings -- 8.

Yes, but they still don't REQUIRE than you buy 1/4 box, just that there will be a charge for ordering less than a box and another charge for ordering a variety of less than 1/4 a box. $8 total in charges if you order only 10 chicks of one variety and no other chicks.

Ideal requires $25 worth of actual poultry, no minimum number. You will get a fee for it being "short" of a full order. And probably some packing peanuts as well. But I ordered 12 in October, it came out to like $38 wiith the fees/shipping and all.

Now I just have to get rid of some of these excess roosters so I can buy some more pullets!
