Good Flock Ideas

Im with mrs.K on this one
Chickens, a lot wont live too much for maybe 5 or 6 years,7 at the most.

You didn't say whether your chickens were sick or not...were they ill?

I don't often add ACV because I recently started fermented feed. But herbs like dill, thyme, oregano, parsley, nettles, rosemary, and mint are all good for chickens. Basil and comfrey too.
When my chickens were sick as chicks I put grapefruit seed extract in their water every day for 14 days plus gave them the above herbs free choice along with chopped fresh garlic. Only the youngest, who was the origin of the illness, didn't make it.

I like the organic non-GMO things, everything my 'babies' eat that is unnatural; I feel like "Wow, if I can't eat it without something bad to happen, why do they?"

My oldest chickens are 6 yrs old, the rooster was never fertile and he has circulation issues. Yes, he's up in age; but he survived a stroke, luckily he's okay! But I think that flock of chickens are strong.

BTW: @Mrs. K ? What 'did' happen to your flock, and why don't you think the others will 'not' make it that far in age? Same thought as @wyldflwr .

I had some hens that were 6 laying like 2 year olds, we got them when they were 4 because they didn't lay and we started them on fermented feed, natural pellets, meal worms, etc and they started laying within a week.
