Are new hampshire reds and delawares good egg layers? Our feed store is selling some and I just wanted to be sure before going to get them.

production type NH are good egg layer, Delawares were created as broilers. but todays birds should lay about the same

There are many studies on differences between the breeds. I like the Delaware for the plumage. If egg production is your priority, leghorn, production red, barred rock are better choices.
