I only have barred rocks so can't make an educated comparison. I can say that each has her own personality. Greta is the friendliest, but all three would jump onto us when they were little. Now that they're grown, they wait until I sit on a root or bend over to fill their water bowl, then jump onto my back and even onto my head. I don't like it on my head because I shave my head and it feels scratchy, so I escort them off. We bought them from a man here in Oregon who has a backyard farmer store. He'll sell three. We went to his class on raising chickens and the receipt from the class was good for a third chick if we bought two. We were planning on three, so it worked out well. He handled the chicks daily and we continued the practice and they turned out friendly. Maybe there is someone like him in Tennessee.
