Hi I ordered from Ideal on Tuesday and today I got my babies in.They were all healthy and alive. I would like to see everybody elses review on them. I'll post pics later.

I received mine a week ago from Ideal they all arrived healthy in 24 hours after shipping & I live in the boonies. They sent 9 extra packing peanuts who are also doing well. They will make some good dinners I am sure.I had looked on here quite a bit before ordering Ideal seemed to have alot of positive reveiws which is why I ordered them. Nobody where I live had any buff brahmas that I was looking for , As they are a good dual purpose breed & quite hardy at that . If I have to order again I would definitely order from Ideal.

I'm glad to see this thread. I just discovered Ideal through the sponsor list. I plan on ordering chicks from them next year. Already have an order in for this year from My Pet Chicken. They are due next week. it will be my first experience with ordering chicks through the mail. Ideal seems to have all the breeds I want to try and I like that you can specify what sex youu want for the most part.
Good to see positive reviews for them.

I'm glad to see positive reviews for Ideal. I just placed an order with them for bantam EE. This is my first time ordering chicks from anywhere so I'm a bit anxious/nervous.

I ordered red sexlinks and delaware pullets chicks from Ideal this spring, through our feed store. I'm in it for the egglaying, and they aren't laying quite yet, hatched around the 1st of March. However hey are very nice birds so far. The RSL's were picked on in the brooder by the dels so when I moved them to the outdoor brooder I separated them until everyone was a bit bigger and could defend themselves.

I have gotten very positive comments on the appearance of the delawares in particular. The RSL's should be egglaying machines once they start. My experience with any sexlink is that they do start to have fatal reproductive problems starting around on year of age. On the other hand I have friends with just one or a few sexlinks in their flocks and have had the same birds for several years without any issues. I started out with 15 and lost two in the first 18 months, one prolapse and one just looked miserable and died the next day. But I suspect an interal lyer as her belly was huge yet without an palpable "egg in the chamber." However I haven't had sexlinks from Ideal before so I'm hoping for a good experience with them reproductively.

I ordered from Ideal in April they called and shipped early. I ordered 4 brahmas pullets,

4 americanas pullets:D and 7 salmon faverellos. they are all healthy including the packing peanuts. The only problem is I got 6 fav. roosters and 1 pullet fav. now I need to find some more fav. pullets:(

I have ordered three times from them and every time my chicks/ducklings have arrived happy, healthy and alert. And they all have grown into quite beautiful birds!
Just a few pics of my birds from Ideal

I have ordered from Ideal several years ago and received all live, healthy chicks. I have recently moved to Arkansas and have had 2 horrible experiences with ordering chicks. The first hatchery was in Iowa; the post office dropped the ball on that one - all 40 dead on arrival (after SIX days in the mail) Found out they have a problem with transferring in Memphis. So I ordered 50 cornish X from Ideal; they arrived in 2 days, 6 dead on arrival, 6 more dying and dead by evening. I called Ideal and they are sending 12 replacements next week. My opinion is that the problem is the postal service, not the hatcheries. No animal can live for 6 days, and 2 1/2 days in the mail when the weather has been in the 90's is pushing it. The remaining 38 chicks are so far thriving. I would definately recommend Ideal; good customer service, fair prices and exellent selection.
