In the Brooder
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
This is my third time owning chickens. I first had them as a kid.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I now have 48! Eight laying hens, 8 juveniles, 5 roosters (I'm trying to rehome some of them). I just got an order of 27 chicks from Meyer's Hatchery on Wednesday!
(3) What breeds do you have?
9month Old Hens
2 Black Star Sexlink
2 Unknown Red Sexlink
4 Easter Eggers
10 Week Olds
3 Blue Andalusian (2 roos )
2 Cuckoo Maran (1 roo)
2 Buckeye (1 roo)
3 Wellsummer (1 Roo)
3 Amberlink

27 Sexed assorted Brown Eggers From Meyer Hatchery. Looks like I have two Wyandottes, not sure of the color. The rest are blondies.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I like selling quality eggs to the neighboring community. I like building relationships with neighbors. I also love watching the chickens range and kick up bugs. I don't have a run for my chickens, just a coop.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I am a classically trained artist and a crafts person. I love everything having to do with homesteading, alternative building, farming, foraging, sewing etc.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I have had various jobs, most recently working for a house flipping company.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I'm trying to rehome some of my roosters. Google has brought me here many times before for great advice. Most recently on how to rid my coop of a rat snake.
