GOOSE BREEDING THREAD - for breeding, incubating, hatching and rearing.

I tried them both when they were day olds. Either I got lucky and they're both girls or I need some practice!

You wanna come hold Moose?
Haha, I wouldn´t bother with Moose now!! Maybe you did it right, maybe Moose is a girl...would be nice, eh?
But you could have another go with Little Lucy and see how it goes now, as from what I read she´s ideal age.

Well I watched some videos and had a couple of tries. Nothing popped out!

Has anyone ever noticed that bowls are to baby ducks and geese as boxes are to cats? I put a bowl in the brooder last night and had all 5 ducklings sleeping in it within 30 minutes. Then Fatty McGooseGoose (not his official name) went and plopped himself in the middle, launching 4 of the 5 ducklings up the slick sides and out onto their fluffy butts before they even had time to wake up. If the reverse slide action didn't wake them, I'm sure that my laughter did.

I guess they need a bigger bowl.

Also, I've had a drake take turns sitting on various nests - goose, duck, whatever. He only stays a few hours, but sits right on the nests. He's a muscovy/harlequin mule, so he's already a bit mixed up.

When i tryed to sex my goslings (which were 8 ) and i sexed them as all females haha and i lnew i was wrong and i was because i had 3 males and 5 females and i didnt see the difference.
I think the best breed to try and sex to practise is a male embden gosling because you know its a male from start so then you can and try and see how to do it and if you dont see the penis then your doing it wrong because you know its male
