GOOSE BREEDING THREAD - for breeding, incubating, hatching and rearing.

Good Morning everyone, just another update. Since my last post my momma's have hatched another two goslings making it 10 now. But also just this morning another dead gos left in the nest. Making that 3 that hatched but didn't make it out of the nest. Also i've had one that died in the shell trying to get out. So to date my momma's had 22 eggs, 11 hatched, 1 died about three days old, 3 never made it out of the nest, 1 died trying to get out of egg, and 1 was infertile. Still leaving 6 eggs in the nest. I' m wondering if i should just take those last six, even if they hatch and survive, they may have issues.
Now with some better news, over the weekend i had 31 chicks hatch in my incubator, out of 35. So i guess i got smiled upon with some beginners luck.

You mean I'm not the only one that neglects the housework to be with the chickens, geese, and horse?

Oh heavens no you are not the only one who neglects housework to take care of what is important and besides if someone come over and wants something to drink or eat I make them feel right at home and show them where the sink is and let them clean up what they need ... LOL

It will be up to you of course but have you candled the ones still in the nest? might have a few working on getting out. So one goose is still sitting and the other is caring for all the gozzies? sorry for the ones you lost of my heavens what a great hatch for this year chickens included.
