People often ask me that and the reason is that these geese are skinny ,white (oviously),they fly, they have a rose purple coloured beak and feet unlike other white goose breeds thats it really but they look like normal greylags but smaller and they are smaller in size

OK, the bill bit I understand, they being from Anser anser rubrirostris. But then there are grey ones like that, too. How are their feet different? Just the colour? How did you get hold of them? Do you have to be careful with in-breeding? So interesting!

Well we just went to check on the chickens and cause Suzie in her special place laying! We are up to 4 eggs now. It is Autumn here now and the winters do get cold but not harsh and I do have her set up in a side room of our barn so she is sheltered (though she can come and go from there as she pleases) There is electric run to the barn and it wouldn't be a problem to put a heat lamp if we needed to. I don't mind giving a little extra feed as needed. We sprout our own fodder for our birds and other livestock, which is quite economical. I definitely am hearing the mating triumph calling :)

That nest is way too small for that goose. She needs depth and width and height. She is going to break all her eggs in that small area hon....
Momma need air all around as well so there is good air circulation for momma and eggs.

Servpolice, how nice that you found something that you enjoy so much.

Ok lets see :D
The feet have a weird rose colour like the beak i swapped my french toulouse for a trio he got in scotland out of that trio i got a few incubated goslings and sold them to people who can afford to buy them and i kept a gander and split the trio into 2 pairs
and some1 in germany is going to swap me african goslings for white greylag goslings nxt spring
i love questions and its indeed interesting

How do you get them from one country to another? smuggle? lol I'm thinking there's a lot of red tape bringing an animal in from another country??

OK, so your white greylags originated from Scotland as far as you know, and soon their offspring will be on their way to Germany. Did you look up Anser... rubrirostris? I reckon they must be beautiful with their white feathers and pink bills and feet. Also, did you know that Roman geese are small, and the older bred ones often had the pink bills and feet? As you say that yhours are smaller, I wonder if there´s a connection with the Roman geese, they´re a very old breed. See what you think.

Look what I found in the goose nest....she didn´t kill it, but she certainly doesn´t like it, hissing and so on, it didn´t look too bright, and looking at it I think she may have just squashed it if I´d left it there, so I took it out. Nearly became an egg sandwich! I´m hoping she´ll hatch out more, and maybe she´ll be better with those. I´ll go back down and see if I can hear any noises coming from more eggs. This one´s drying out nicely under a lamp now. Silly goose.
