Thank goodness you went when you did, poor lil one. glad to hear it's drying out nicely.
Tiny one is doing ok, warm and trying to see who´s mom! Funny. There are definitely more goslings in the eggs, but no pips yet. tomorrow maybe. Strange how this one is further ahead than the others. maybe to do with the fact that she had a job trying to keep the eggs in the first couple of days. Could have put them back just a bit I suppose. I forgot to mark when she started to sit, so I don´t know the exact due date. See what tomorrow brings, and could be in for a noisy night with the Tiny one!

Do you give them a stuffed animal to cuddle with? also a non breakable mirror helps till they get some of their own to snuggle with.

Well you had a Halloween surprise in an egg!
Oh, he/she´s not THAT ugly!!!!

Just witnessed at feed time, my toulouse gander flying 20ft in the air up hill all the way from the pond to the barn which is about 300 yrds in between. Didnt think this chubby butt could do that
My goodness that did take some work, Missy flew down the drive way the other day and with the river down below the house I decided to clip her wing just in case she got carried away and flew too far. My is he a handsome boy too.

As long as mine doesnt fly to the neighbors im not worried. It caught me off gaurd i thought i had a wild goose coming in lol it was weird seeing him over top of the fruit trees.

Thanks!
He is around 18 lbs now at 16 mos old. I weighed myself and then picked him up and got on the scales again and he added 18lbs to my weight. I thought hed be too heavy to fly like that but i guess he has some strong wings.

Ive roman tuffed geese aswel and the beaks are nearly the same but the white greylags look a spliting image as grey ones but just white. And this year i had chinese goose brooding and babys were pipping until a single male embden started mating (rape by the sound of it) and to make things wores the male chinese mate began fighting with the embden gander on the nest and 5 broke and died and i took two inside (one survived) and was gray?!?!?! And the female chinese ended up with 3 goslings it was a big mess .And loads of my geese fly actually only my greylags or my greylag mixes and one of my female embdens managed to get off the ground a few feet
