The ever fun "corn" topic.![]()
I didn´t know there was one....everyone here feeds their animals and birds corn, there´s nothing more available here than corn. Even the people eat masses of corn. I love corn ice-cream! I´ve researched it, it´s something they´ll eat in the wild. My geese like it...no debate for me!I hate the corn debates

OK, thanks for your thoughts, pips...and, of course, the most important thing for geese to eat is grass, as in nature...which is what I found interesting, as mine eat huge amounts of grass., they´re on pasture. I love watching them, all facing the same direction, slowly making their way across, nibbling and eating the grass, then all to the stream, and then do it all over again.....Nothing to do with GMO's or that stuff, but I have sat down and thought what is the only thing young goslings in the wild do not have access to?? Which is man made feed that contains mostly corn. Wild birds do not get angel wing.....they do not eat corn when goslings.
Yes, wild geese have access to corn in the fall, but as growing juveniles they do not.
I have tried to stay away from corn in my feed for goslings.
Yes, that´s what I understand about corn......and it´s so useful...they just see the pot and come running!! (one marge pot full for 30 + birds! Not a lot)I have no problem with it some people think it is bad , like someone eating jellybeans for breakfast lunch and dinner, causing fat buildup. I believe that it is ones own prefference, the birds belong to them and they have the right to feed what they want.
I think that if they are free ranging then they are eating enough other things and moving around enough to balance out the corn.
