Petrol´s what my hubby puts in the mower so the grass stays nice for the geese!

It´s only corn, except for the salt or sugar or toffee part...I don´t imagine that´d be too good for them. Why, are you thinking about taking a party of them to the cinema too?

My vet believes that whole grains (including corn) are a fine supplement for birds that are getting 80%+ of their diet from grazing grass. He pointed out that both mazuri waterfowl and flockraiser are made out of ground corn.... and whole grains are better than ground. My Africans get approximately 1 cup daily of whole corn with a little added flockraiser and my dewlaps get approximately 2 cups daily of 50% mazuri, 30% corn, and 20% flockraiser. During laying months, I add free-choice bowls of crushed oyster shell and egg shell for added calcium. My vet approves of my feeding program and thinks my birds are in excellent health. But my geese live outside 24/7 on maintained grass and get plenty of exercise, which is the ideal way for geese to live.

I was just reading over this topic again...Utah, you give one cup of corn to how many Africans? Just out of interest.
Mine get about 6 cups of corn per day between 5 chickens, 10 muscovies and the 7 adult geese with 12 goslings that are now big enough to eat it. They have about an acre and a half to forage. Commercial feed only exists here for chickens, so the goslings get chick crumb as a supplement when they´re tiny, then later I mix it with crushed corn and add the Brewers yeast every 2/3 days, then they move onto just crushed corn, all as treats, of course, then they eat the whole corn like the rest. What a frenzy! I chick it about widely, they´re like kids going after sweets!
